My Research Interests Within Computing (Academic and Professional)
My main research interests lie in the following areas:
- Knowledge Acquisition, Information Architecture and Knowledge Engineering.
- Intelligent Systems: All kinds of Supervised, Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning systems. I am particularly interested in Text Mining systems, as well as Artificial Neural Networks.
- Connections between Computing and Religion, Philosophy and Psychology.
- Web Technology:
Semantic Web,
Web 2.0/Social Web Systems,
Web 3.0, 4.0 (The Intelligent Web) and Web Standards
My other interests include:
- Functional Programming and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Cross Platform Development & Issues.
- Open Source Development.
- Operating Systems.
- Fuzzy Logic.
Outside of Computing (and not so academic and a bit more amateur)
- Religion, Spirituality, Mysticism, Esotericism, etc: Particularly those relating to Christianity and/or Gnosticism and/or Interfaith Dialogue/Worship
- Philosophy (particularly of the Mind and of Spirituality)
- Psychology (particularly Jungian and personality-based)
- Music (particularly Rock, Metal, Jazz, Classical and Choral) (I can play the Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ocarina and Didgeridoo) (I sing at at bass level)
- The history and philosophies of Freemasonry (particularly regular-orientated esoteric Masonry)
- The history and philosophies of the Knights Templar
- Vegetarianism (Lacto-Ovo)
