Event Organisation

Daniel has experience organising, running and helping out at events.

Helping to run your event

Daniel can assist the running of your event, this can be anything from providing organisational/administrative assistance to providing on-the-day assistance such as introductions, expert panels etc.

Previous Events Organised

In previous years Daniel has helped out the organisation of events in many different ways, some examples follow

Core Organiser

Bristol Knowledge Unconference, is a series of "unconference" (i.e. informal conferences) which are organised in Bristol (UK) for people who enjoy and/or work with Knowledge and Technology. Our first event was in September 2008, with another scheduled for early 2009.

Co-Organiser

BarCampOxford 2008, this was scheduled for late 2008. Unfortunately the event did not happen because the funding organisations pulled out. Daniel was organising this with Pete Cooper.

SemanticCampLondon 2008 happened in February 2008 at Imperial College, London. It drew a number of well-known names in the Semantic Web, Microformats and Web Design communities in to talk about the core topics of Semantics. It was a two day themed barcamp. Daniel co-organised this with Tom Morris. Daniel also gave an informal talk here about the Data Space Philosophy and the artificial intelligence fields related to the Semantic Web.

Spoken at

Daniel has spoken at the UK Semantic Web Interest Group 2007 at HP Labs (Bristol), and also at XTech 2008

Attended

Daniel has also attended Over The Air, and a few Oxford Geek Nights (of which he has spoken at twice, once on the Social-Semantic Web and once about BarCampOxford)
