Hello all vanirsystems.com/danielsblog viewers (.co.uk viewers will see this once I have transferred my domain over).
My new hosting package rocks my socks off.
(Lots to blog about but I will save it until after my transfer is done - co.uk viewers may have noticed that my bandwidth has been exceeded)
Daniel
(loving my new webhost package - i can set up ruby on rails apps)
Hi all,
I am setting up a new hosting service, so I will be able to offer:
- Hosting (with domains) for websites - varying ranges of space and bandwidths (various prices)
- Hosting (with domains or subdomains) for blogs/wikis (various prices)
This is in addition to:
- Domain names (approx £2 for uk domains, £10 for international based domains)
- ZenCart installation and redesign (installation only: £50. installation and redesign: £varies)
- Web Development and Consultancy (from £10 per hour)
So, yes these prices are likely to change in the future - so don’t quote me here. The best thing you can do is to email me. I’ll always try to be competitive with my prices.

Hi All
Just finished my XOOPS CMS redesign for one of my clients - quite similar to the default, but with the Zine, Articles and xcGallery module add-ons. I hope that he likes it. As soon as I get to update my hosting package, then I will be able to host his site properly, its annoying that this one has taken a while to do, I have had so many different versions and they just haven’t been good enough to either my standards or the clients.
My other client project is going well though, I have a meeting with this other client in a few weeks to discuss things and to get to know each other better. I will be giving him a dynamic online shop.
(I obviously can’t tell too much about this because of disclosure things - but when the two websites are done I will be able to provide you guys with final links)

I have been playing about with the Xoops Content management System for a client - it seems really easy to use.
So, if you want an installation… then you can pay me!
- Plain installation and hosting for 1 year: £50
- Installation, hosting and redesign: please ask

First thing:
I have a massive headache today, since I got up.
Second thing:
My Independent Study Module at Uni has been approved… so I have only got 5 hours of lectures/seminars per week (and all on a Thursday). Its so cool, I can focus on my project/dissertation and my ISM and Job.
Third thing:
Beki pointed out that when we search for a home for me for from the Summer, I could potentially get one which would allow cats
Hi all,
Just wanted to point out a reasonably fun geeky flash game about solving the worlds problems using Grid Computing. Its available here:
https://www.tryscience.org/grid/master/master.html
Its so fun in a geeky way. The other game (“Think Tank”) in the tryscience grid section is alright too.

Just wanted to say that my girlfriend Beki is making me really happy, I am going to see her again on Friday - very much looking forward to it.
Just to let people know:
- I am testing Skype 2.5.0.63 Beta for Mac OS X (so if I cut out in the middle of a skype-convo then you know why)
- When I moved over from my old WordPress theme I forgot to move over my CreativeCommons license… I have now got it back, you’ll be able to see it at the bottom of my blog website
I am also interested in getting back to RDFa, I am waiting a little until the new RDFa Schema for XHTML is released, so that it can produce valid XHTML. Then I may start working on wprdfa again! <— but then I have got quite a lot going on at the moment, lets just see how it all goes
(if you have no idea what I am going on about then don’t worry, tis very techie stuff)
Ciao for now,
Daniel
Hi All,
Just wanting to tell you all that I am one third through my undergraduate project final report… I have to keep on going all the way up to near 10,000 words. I should be able to easily do it, as I have my report organised into sections and subsections with the bits I need to do labeled like this: {TODO}.
Its all good, managing to get everything done very well. It is quite cutting edge stuff that I am researching, so I may be able to get some citations for it in the future - fingers crossed. I like the fact that in my undergraduate report I have referenced my own “Web 2.0″ article that was published in ACM Crossroads magazine (available here: https://www.acm.org/crossroads/xrds13-1/ ), I find that quite cool. I like experiencing writing articles, I like writing them and I like providing references and I like the fact that people may reference my work in the future. I like contributing to the research community, it feels quite fulfilling. I am tasting these things for the first time, and its overall nice.
